Inspection, Testing and Certification
- Comprehensive safety inspections include checking for wear, damage and distortion, NDT (Non-destructive Testing) inspection and checking operating condition.
- Avon’s professional engineers will work with you to assess how you plan to use your lifting device. Can it be modified to fix a recurring problem? Should it be upgraded to handle larger loads, more severe duty cycles or temperature extremes?
- Customers receive a detailed service report with photographs of deficiencies, repair recommendations, firm-price quotations, options for consideration and a comparison with the cost and lead-time for new equipment.
- When work is authorized, experienced service technicians, licensed electricians, certified welders, millwrights and machinists will completely disassemble and clean the device. Deficiencies will be repaired. The device will be reassembled, tested, repainted and new warning and capacity labels applied.
- Written Certification of Equipment Inspection and Test for continued safe use and compliance with Section 51(1) of OHSA Regulation 851 Annual Inspection.
- Computerized service history records will be provided for each piece of equipment.

Are You in Compliance?
OHSA Industrial Regulation 851, Section 51 (1) (b), states: A lifting device shall be thoroughly examined by a competent person as often as necessary, but not less frequently than recommended by the manufacturer and in any case, at least once a year, and a permanent record shall be kept, signed by the competent person doing the examination.

- We provide a managed staff of highly trained, competent and qualified technicians and inspectors to service your lifting equipment requirements, allowing you to enjoy the flexibility of controlling manpower levels while reducing technical and administrative costs.
- Legal compliance also means keeping full inspection and maintenance documentation and records on each material-handling device. Our service will include the following documentation:
-Certificate of Inspection and Test
-NDT and UT certificates
-Full inspection reports itemizing the component and its condition
-Full details of repairs
-Repair procedures and/or modifications certified by a -Professional Engineer, as required.
